• Notification of any upcoming Outofoffice networking events in the city.
• Other LGBT-related news and events that may interest you.

What is Outofoffice?
Founded in August 2010, Sheffield Outofoffice was created to fill a gap in the LGBT social and networking calendar. We're working hard to get as many professional members as possible. At present we are providing social and networking events for professionals, however our remit will evolve as we gain members.

What does LGBT mean?
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans (formerly transsexual or transgender). Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual are terms used to describe sexuality, whereas Trans is used to describe gender.

Actually no-one really fits into one 'box' so this professionals group is aimed at people who don't identify as 100% hetero (straight).

Can I join?
If you identify as an LGBT professional, yes you can! Due to the way we attract sponsorship to fund our events, at the moment we're not open to full-time students or non-professionals.

How much does it cost?
Nothing to join. We may have to charge for some events but you can choose which ones you come to. We'll usually try and find a sponsor for a specific event to cut down on your expenditure.

I'm not out at work.
You don't have to be out at work to join. You could personally register to receive newsletters to your private email address. We usually use city-centre locations for our socials.

What kind of events are you going to put on in the future?
Well that depends on you. During our initial events we'll be getting a feel about the kind of events you'd like to attend as an LGBT professional. We are, for example, scoping out an offer of a discounted box at a Sheffield sporting event.

I live near Sheffield but not in it. Can I join?
Yes you can! We'd love to see you at an event

Outofoffice concentrates on professional networking and development. But there is so much more that can be done to link up the LGBT community as a whole in Sheffield.
